In co-operation with System 180, BREAD & BUTTER has found the creative winter solution for the Denim Base and roofed airfield. 12,500 metres of stainless steel pipes, 30 tons of steel, 20,000 nuts, bolts and steel plain washers as well as 5,000 square meters of plastic awning featuring air cushioned membrane, complete an unprecedented unique masterpiece of scenic architecture, which reaches along the entire front of the 400 metres long and over 12 metres high roofed airfield, making up a temporary facade on the site of the historical airport of Berlin-Tempelhof.

I am pretty lucky to live in a place where it’s only about 3 hours drive to some really good Alpine skiing and snowboarding. Getting ready to head down to the mountains a few times this year and I’ve already heard that the valleys are dry and some parts of the Dolomites didn’t even get snow at the end of December last year.
