Exit Through The Gift Shop – A Banksy Film
Banksy has pranked the world with his Street Art disaster movie. I was fooled so badly that I went and saw it twice just to be sure that I was getting the full experience! Seriously though, it was a really nice film. An exploration of the urban side of high art, Banksy conceives a world where the common man is able to not only enjoy art and artists at their highest form but is also able to become part of the piece itself. When the common man chooses to expose himself to the history of humanity remembered through an medium there is normally also a choice which medium is selected. The visual arts: painting, sculpture, prints, photography really do pale in comparison to film. Moving pictures will always be our greatest weakness.
