It Looks like VANS is opening a PopUp shop at London’s Old Spittalfields Market just in time for the VANS Downtown Showdown. Picking up on the Victorian era Pub and Jack the Ripper theme from the contest the store has the look and feel of a pub. A baby grand piano (I hear it actually plays!), travel cases and real wine barrels are all used in the shop to show a full and exclusive collection of VANS products. The shop is open now for 4 weeks. The PopUp boys from sunny Bavaria have done it again!
New York Fashion Week is in full stride and I must say Proenza Schouler’s textiles strike me with an awe powerful punch. Demure shades and sheen surfaces find each other well in a melodic Fall 2011 collection. Watch the show here These bags are not in the budget of a girl like me or most of the population in the world; however, its ok to dream, and keep an eye out for similar items at thrifts and at the cheapies. These are also their bracelet available for purchase. Great inspiration for your own creations.
Beautiful. Scott Schuman showcases the spirit of a man in love. The scenes walking the street with camera in hand are inspiring and courageous.
Patrice at Hirsch in Nürnberg MIMOSOPOP is still rockin’ and now there are a few contributors on board! I started this site to bring together different creative and professionals to give them a space to share their interests and showcase their own work. It has been a struggle at times for me to put keys to board so a big THANK YOU Sophie and Neva, you both kick ass! Keep the writing coming and keep up all of your amazing design work. Looking back on 2010 I see a wealth of experience and motivation towards the future. So many good trips, lucky me lucky me! Moscow Beijing Shanghai Tokyo London Paris Amsterdam Milan Canary Islands – sunshine! Austria – snowboarding! Rio de Janeiro – New Year’s Eve! So many photos, people, food, flights, hotels, business cards, parties, concerts, etc. to sift through I don’t know how long it will take ...
So I guess I should properly introduce myself, as I have been rather rude, up until now. My name is Sophie the sack maker. The name comes from the fact I am an accessories designer, mixed with my Grandpa’s surname Sachs (as it links nicely but also he was an accessories maker and designer, so it’s all linked up nicely)
Levi Maestro is a class act. Had a chance to meet him when he was on the adi campus last summer. Really easy going guy who is loving life. The sense of awe is so refreshing. Great look at him in Oregon checking out Numero Uno. Maestro Knows – Episode 9 (Nike Campus) from Maestro Knows on Vimeo.
I must say I am a fan of a concept store. I believe my first memorable experience of this was Dover street market, London; when I was sent there to do a competitive shop by my, then, tutor Jane Sturgess. As soon as I enter I felt at home in some odd way, I guess this must have been the taxidermy, they have wonderful specimens. But it was also other elements, the layout, the spacing of colours, designs and wares. It excited me. This much like the excitement I have for L’eclaireur!
A stunning look at the future through the lens of the past.

Who owns the content you post online? We’ve all heard speculation about who really owns the content you put online. Who owns the images you put on Facebook? Who owns the emails in your Gmail account? Who owns your Twitter conversations? Or — closer yet to fashion bloggers — who owns the content you post on sites like Chictopia, Lookbook.nu, Weardrobe? And what can they do with your content? Back in December, Lookbook.nu called on its members to submit photos of themselves wearing American Apparel clothing for a booklet. Here the end result is clear, but what happens when you unexpectedly find an image you posted on a network in the style gallery of Payless Shoes?
