It Looks like VANS is opening a PopUp shop at London’s Old Spittalfields Market just in time for the VANS Downtown Showdown. Picking up on the Victorian era Pub and Jack the Ripper theme from the contest the store has the look and feel of a pub. A baby grand piano (I hear it actually plays!), travel cases and real wine barrels are all used in the shop to show a full and exclusive collection of VANS products. The shop is open now for 4 weeks. VANS PopUp | Old Spittalfields Market 73 Brushfield St London Greater London E1 6AA UK Mon-Sat 10-7 Sun 12-7
Form and Function Vista 3D Glasses 3D has become influential in the entertainment industry through Cinema, Television and Gaming. Vista provides unique, vibrant and personalized eye wear to this industry internationally. Vista jumped on a niche market with a fast response to the growing need for private in home 3D accessories. A variety of colors is a nice start but I would love to see these guys innovate frame sizes and shapes. What about customization for fans and theme parties? Imagine having a 3D watching party for your favorite event or program…why not hand out ‘branded’ Vista glasses? This can be a useful tool for event managers, promoters and producers who have any contact with 3D. Looking forward to seeing more out of Vista. VISTA MIMOSOPOP on the road…
Patrice at Hirsch in Nürnberg MIMOSOPOP is still rockin’ and now there are a few contributors on board! I started this site to bring together different creative and professionals to give them a space to share their interests and showcase their own work. It has been a struggle at times for me to put keys to board so a big THANK YOU Sophie and Neva, you both kick ass! Keep the writing coming and keep up all of your amazing design work. Looking back on 2010 I see a wealth of experience and motivation towards the future. So many good trips, lucky me lucky me! Moscow Beijing Shanghai Tokyo London Paris Amsterdam Milan Canary Islands – sunshine! Austria – snowboarding! Rio de Janeiro – New Year’s Eve! So many photos, people, food, flights, hotels, business cards, parties, concerts, etc. to sift through I don’t know how long it will take ...
Hello all! Long time I know, but in that time I have been having an excellent time keeping busy with work, Christmas/Hanukkah lead up, and visiting friends new shops. I know people opening shops is a tad crazy but that’s the way I tend to like people.
I must say I am a fan of a concept store. I believe my first memorable experience of this was Dover street market, London; when I was sent there to do a competitive shop by my, then, tutor Jane Sturgess. As soon as I enter I felt at home in some odd way, I guess this must have been the taxidermy, they have wonderful specimens. But it was also other elements, the layout, the spacing of colours, designs and wares. It excited me. This much like the excitement I have for L’eclaireur!
Breaking news: adidas Originals launches a wintersport first at the New York City Soho store. Apparently available at shopadidas.com!
I first caught the news of this store on Hypebeast and can’t wait for my next trip to the Dam to check it out in person. An extremely impressive space, especially when you consider: 1. It used to be a police station 2. It took less than 5 weeks for completion 3. It uses 4 main materials; Concrete, Glass, Steel and an industrial Wood surrogate 4. And of course the budget was limited
So back in July 2009 Nike opened a small store in Laguna Beach, CA. I first caught the news on Coolhunting and was really excited to see Nike testing a multibrand retail space that carries Nike 6.0, Hurley, Converse and Nike SB with a second floor customization area. Customers can go in and get a print on their new Chucks or shirts with a 3D inkjet called “Converse Ink”, get advice on NIKEiD and even get their boardshorts printed through a sublimation process. Now none of this is revolutionary in and of itself.
This is a pretty awesome space that was originally intended to be an apartment inside the Stary Browar. The mall itself is a patron of the arts and I like to think that this would have been an apartment for visiting artists to live and work in. A kind of living studio inside of a bustling retail center that itself is filled with amazing artwork.
In celebration of the Five Two 3 collection renowned Stencil Artist Pochoir has transformed No6 into an art space for the month of December. Sitting alongside his signature ‘Pochoir x Superstar’ artists commissioned to produce work for the show include El Cartel (Spain), Claroscuro (UK), Ludo (France) Kenneth Chung (UK & Germany) and FarkFK (UK).
Finished (and I use that term loosely) setting up the space today. Merchandised a bit of the product, Y-3 and adidas SLVR. I think there will be some Comme des Garçons perfumes brought in as well. Poznan is a lucky town… Great help from and thanks to his new Poznan crew. Pictures coming when I am back!
Jumping on a plane in the morning direction Poznan Poland. Going to meet with Robert Serek (think GUERRILLA STORE) to help out with the new RS PopUp store opening on Friday! Stay tuned, pictures and more info coming over the weekend…
